In a continuation of district efforts to include more parents and community members in its schools, Hopewell Valley Regional School District’s Helpwell program provides citizens an opportunity to participate in the education of our students.
Volunteers can work as classroom, front office, and playground assistants, as well as other posts within the school. To view current volunteer opportunities or to apply for a volunteer post, click on the Volunteer Opportunites & Application link found on this page.
There are two levels of volunteers:
- Level I: May only work with students if a certified teacher is present (examples include special event speaker, science fair judge, helper during classroom parties). Background check / fingerprinting is not required.
- Level II: Work in schools more than twice a month to help in the classroom, media center, cafeteria. Background check / fingerprinting is required.
Click on the Steps for Fingerprinting link found on this page for complete instructions on the required steps for clearance to work in our schools.
For more information on volunteering, contact Nancy Barich, district volunteer coordinator, at nancybarich@me.com. You may also contact the main office of your child’s school to find out how your talents can best be utilized. Building-based volunteer training opportunities for parents and community members will be arranged by the school principals.
